Home : Site Info : Submissions

I gladly accept submissions for the site if you think you have something that needs to be said. (For instance, right now I could really use something on how this applies to gaming, since I'm not very familiar with that medium.) However, I reserve the right to ask you to make editing changes, or to turn down the submission if I don't think the quality is where it needs to be.

I use server-side includes on this site, which means I write happy little blocks of HTML and just put a particular code in the individual pages so I can make quick changes to the layout. That means that even if you think you can copy the html from the pages, I'd prefer you use the same codes I do when putting the essays together. They go like this:

$HEAD means something that's a subject heading. Actually, you could just use the <h1> and <h2> tags, since I control the attributes from a style sheet.
$EXAMPLE and #EXAMPLE to start and end examples. Ideally, examples are one paragraph long, but just in case, I use the "closing" tag.
$LINK for a link that goes outside. Usually I go $LINK:[url]:[text], where text is optional.
$ILINK for internal link, or link to another page. Syntax is $ILINK:[essay name]:[text], where, again, text is optional. If you know how to do links, you can do ILINKs yourself, but I'd prefer you leave $LINK becase of the graphic afterwards.
$BIB for where you need .

Be SURE to send me bibliographic information with the file, if you cite anything I don't have on the bibliography already. And please send files as .txt files, since I'd prefer to avoid viri.

Oh, right, an email address would help! submissions@world-building.net.

Thanks, and hope you enjoy the site!
